Phishing sites use similar domains: goog1e.com, yandex.ru (with a Cyrillic "a"). Check every character.
Services like bit.ly, t.co and similar ones hide the real address. Use preview before clicking.
Before logging in or making a payment, make sure the domain belongs to the real service.
In the address bank.evil.com, the main domain is evil.com, not bank. Phishers often use this trick.
